Safely Reopen Your Baltimore Business With COVID-19 And Social Distancing Signage

Today’s post explains how we help Maryland businesses prepare for the “new normal” and safely reopen to the public with custom COVID-19 and social distancing signage.

The Maryland Economy Is Reopening–is Your Business Ready?

The federal government just unveiled its Guidelines for Opening Up America Again, a three-phased approach based on expert public health research to help businesses reopen safely as we continue to fight COVID-19.

For many Baltimore businesses, that means big changes are coming. But Baltimore Signs and Graphics is standing by to help you through it.

How To Enforce Baltimore, Maryland Guidelines With COVID-19 Safety Signs

During all phases of the economy’s reopening, it is the responsibility of individuals and employers to promote and enforce COVID-19 safety guidelines, which include:

  • Practicing good hygiene–frequently washing hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer, avoiding touching your face, sneezing or coughing into tissues or the crook of your elbow, and disinfecting frequently used items and surfaces.
  • Wearing masks–Marylanders were required to wear masks or cloth face coverings in retail spaces and on public transportation beginning Saturday, April 18th, according to the official Baltimore, Maryland government website. With many businesses currently entering the initial stages of reopening, it’s more important than ever. In addition to mask reminders, proper instructions for donning and doffing may be useful.
  • Social distancing–Marylanders are also advised to practice social distancing, which means staying at least 6’ from other people to prevent contact with respiratory droplets. It also means avoiding handshakes and hugging, limiting non-essential travel, and generally avoiding crowds where possible.
  • Notifying visitors and workers of other COVID-19 policies in place–Some businesses will require temperature checks, closures, and other safety policies that visitors and workers need to be made aware of.

The Maryland Department of Health has also posted additional guidelines in a document titled “Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Outbreak,” which is available for free online.

In order to enforce these guidelines, social distancing and COVID-19 signage will be key. Custom signage remains the most cost-effective medium for conveying important messages to large groups of people, and it’s even more important to reduce the need for face-to-face reminders right now.
